In his keynote address, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim expressed the need for systemic reform, emphasizing that corruption is not only an ethical failure but a barrier to economic growth, social equity, and national credibility. He called for “moral courage” across all levels of government and society, and reaffirmed that institutional reform and integrity must serve as the foundation for Malaysia’s progress.
The conference outlined significant governance milestones, including improvements in Malaysia’s international anti-corruption rankings and the rollout of strategic policy reforms. Among the key announcements were proposed amendments to the Whistleblower Protection Act 2010 and the planned introduction of a Freedom of Information Act, both seen as critical to enhancing transparency, accountability, and public trust. The Prime Minister also commits to reaching top 25 status on the Corruption Perception Index by 2033.
